Step 1 | Hey, I think my brain broke.
If you’ve taken a hit in a game and you have ANY signs or symptoms of a concussion, tell your:
- Coach
- Athletic trainer
- Parent
Life is considerably harder with a busted brain. You’re awesome. Stay that way.
Step 2 |Your friend just got hit by a car. And you just walked away
You wouldn’t do that, would you? No, you’d get help. The same goes for a concussion.
- Tell somebody immediately if you think a teammate has a concussion
- It isn’t snitching on them
- It’s the best thing you can do for a teammate and the team
Same goes for you. Don’t drag the team down by trying to play when you’re not 100%. Tell somebody. Get out of the game.
Dude I’m Gonna Barf!
Nausea is a common symptom, as are forgetting plays and losing your balance.
Step 3 |You’re tough enough to take the hit. Be tough enough to tell somebody.
